Police in Springfield, Ohio, are investigating after a man claimed to have accidentally shot his wife during sex.

Timothy Havens told police he was reaching for something on the night stand when the pistol went off, hitting his wife, Carolyn Havens, in the upper chest.

Carolyn, 42, is in critical condition in Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton, where she's been since the Sunday shooting, according to the Columbia Dispatch.

Deputies said Carolyn has an active restraining order against her husband.

Deputies took Timothy into custody for further questioning and he could face charges for violating his restraining order.
