The show included performances from past Grammy winners such as Mariah Carey, Christina Aguilera and the Foo Fighters.

Celine Dion was also a presenter, and performed her rendition of the Janis Ian classic "Seventeen."

"Walk Hard," from the movie, "Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story," also is up for best movie or TV song. John Mayer's "Say" from "The Bucket List" is on the list, along with Peter Gabriel and Thomas Newman for "Down to Earth" from "WALL-E."

The Grammys will be handed out Feb. 8 in Los Angeles.
